The Great Hazel Hunt

I’ve spent the last few weeks on a bit of a mission—trying to track down a genuine hazel tree close to home.

Turns out, hazel leaves have a lot of very convincing lookalikes. I’ve had several “Yes! I’ve found it!” moments… followed quickly by “Oh wait—definitely not.”

But I think I’ve finally found a winner!

Don’t worry though—I won’t be adding anything into your floof’s forage until it’s 100% verified.

I’m checking it with:

Multiple plant ID apps

A lovely local forager who I swap notes with

And a trusted plant expert

Accuracy matters, and I won’t take chances when it comes to your pets' safety.

Keep an eye out—if it gets the green light, hazel will be popping up
